Akiko wrote about a trip she took to Hiroshima last October

I stayed ANA hotel Hiroshima last October. There is in Hiroshima city.  My husband and I took the tour. It was the fee including ticket and staying the hotel. It was a low price.
We enjoyed 3 days at this hotel. The hotel is near the Hiroshima station and clean and comfortable.  I saw many foreign people stayed there. They came to watch the World Cup Rugby.
We went to another place by train. We went to The Atomic Bomb Dome and Itukushima shrine. Other places are World Heritage. I visited another one was Hiroshima castle.
The Atomic Bomb Dome is still remained as it was broken. The museum has many burned clothes, lunchboxes and many real photos.  The exhibition is serious and terrible facts. I am  moved there and I agreed "No More Hiroshima".
Itukushima shrine was built near the beach in the 9th Century. When the high tide come to its foundation of 'torii' and the shrine building as flooded during the high tide . It is beautiful and fantastic scenery. We most Japanese…

I visited the Comvita at 21st Feb. 202 with my Bay Learning Academy friends. Comvita is famous for Japan. The honey of Comvita is sold by department store. It is so expensive.
By the way, we joined the guided tours. And I tried the computer control guide. It had been getting on helicopter for me. My sight was like moving aerial photo.  It was realistic great scenery.  I had the latest advanced technology experience for me.
Finally I bought 2 honies for my friends.

I was looking forward to going there because I went to the park before 2 years ago.
the park is wonderfull. It is a large area, many plants and a beautiful lake.
I saw many ducks and sheep.
The park show me great scenery as 2 years ago.
I am glad to visit there again.
Then we played Frisbee Golf, it was the first time for me throwing the Frisbee. We went up the hill. Sometimes the Frisbee flied somewhere. But we were enjoying it.
I felt younger in my mind.
Thank you

One student's experience at the trip to the Katikati Bird Garden

Yesterday I visited the bird Garden in Katikati with Yam,Patty and the teacher Juan. At the bird garden we're looking and feeding to the birds like chickens, ducks and pigeons. My favorite bird was a grey duck with Green beak, also we can see the peacock, parrots and a strange bird similar to a phoenix. The most funny parts in the trip was when we feed the birds because a lot of birds arrived with us.

TESOL January 2020

Our latest TESOL course was a great success. All three ladies passed with 'Strong Passes'. All three came with very different experiences and strengths. Sandra is from Catalonia, it was great to have the input from a non-native speaker. Heather is going to use her new ESOL skills in the classroom and Katie will be off travelling the world very soon.

Otanewainuku Trip

On 13 of Jan. we went to Otanewainuku as a class trip. We were eight people, including 2 teachers. It took about 35 minutes from Bay Learning Academy.
We started to walk from the beginning to the top of the hill through the bush. It was new experience and physical fitness as well.
One day before one lady had described to us about Kiwi birds living in this bush. Unfortunately, I couldn't' see natural Kiwi birds. Anyway, it took about 45 Minutes to reach the peak. There was a small viewing tower. We had lunch at this place. It was good for sightseeing everywhere.  After lunch, we came down to where we started at the car park.
I think it was more easier than going up to the peak. ;It took about 40 minutes to come down to the start point. Anyway, it was a new experience through the bush.
