Akiko wrote about a trip she took to Hiroshima last October

I stayed ANA hotel Hiroshima last October. There is in Hiroshima city.  My husband and I took the tour. It was the fee including ticket and staying the hotel. It was a low price. We enjoyed 3 days at this hotel. The hotel is near the Hiroshima station and clean and comfortable.  I saw many foreign people stayed there. They came to watch the World Cup Rugby. We went to another place by train. We went to The Atomic Bomb Dome and Itukushima shrine. Other places are World Heritage. I visited another one was Hiroshima castle. The Atomic Bomb Dome is still remained as it was broken. The museum has many burned clothes, lunchboxes and many real photos.  The exhibition is serious and terrible facts. I am  moved there and I agreed "No More Hiroshima". Itukushima shrine was built near the beach in the 9th Century. When the high tide come to its foundation of 'torii' and the shrine building as flooded during the high tide . It is beautiful and fantastic scenery. We most Japa...

My visit to Comvita

It was an informative trip for learn about bees life, how they live and make honey. It was interesting to look how they see the flowers and collect polen in a small bag. I think they work so much for make the honey. After that we can taste some honeys yummy flavour. My favourite flavours was the honey with lemon. By Isaiah I visited the Comvita at 21st Feb. 202 with my Bay Learning Academy friends. Comvita is famous for Japan. The honey of Comvita is sold by department store. It is so expensive. By the way, we joined the guided tours. And I tried the computer control guide. It had been getting on helicopter for me. My sight was like moving aerial photo.  It was realistic great scenery.  I had the latest advanced technology experience for me. Finally I bought 2 honies for my friends. By Akiko Comvita was established in 1974, in Te Puke. We were seven people including tteacher Juan. We saw there made of many things from the honey, just as: toothpaste, soap, and many kin...

What a day Friday was

it was a sad goodbye to Yong Woon. He had been with us for 3 months, and in that time he went from an Elementary student to a Pre-Intermediate student. Well done Yong Woon. :) It was Luiz's last day also.He had been here a month and told me 'it was the best experience of my life!' We will miss him, he is always very happy and keen to try everything. After the presentations it was time for the barbecue at the beach. Papamoa beach. This is Alex, Jeuen, Luiz and Prince . This Luiz is staying! And then to the beach. Jon took some surfboards, boogie boards and a kayak.  gorgeous day, great people, lovely weather...what more do you want?

Moturiki Island on Main Beach

I went to Moturiki Island on Main Beach last Friday. I went there with teacher and my colleague. We got there by car.  We walked around the small island. This island has many paths. I touched the water, it was cold. On the island I heard the cicadas, a jet ski, children crying and playing and the sound of waves.  I saw many things there. I saw mountains, trees, birds, butterflies, flowers, a jet ski, rocks and the sea. I also saw many people; many children and their parents. I saw many little black mussels on rocks near the water. I saw a man fishing using a fishing rod. I saw a woman at the beach in a pink swimming suit walking out of the water. I think the trip was interesting and a little bit tiring because I walked a lot and the sun was too hot. Min Hao

The Pre-Int group are packing a lot into their day. They are enjoying the extra Free  classes, (the TESOL trainees are using them to practice their craft on)  and this afternoon were off to the beach to enjoy the sunshine!!

Investigating McLaren Falls

The boys from the Pre-Int class decided to visit the beautiful McLaren Falls in Tauranga as an Activity . They had a gorgeous day for it, hot and sunny. Dae-Hee, Adilson, Sebastian and Felipe (tutor) played rugby, went swimming and walked around the park. Very good was the verdict. Lots of fun!
