Bay Learning Academy Testamonials from Claire and Liz

We said goodbye to Sandra!

TESOL success!

We were sad to see the last day of our last TESOL course. All of the students on our 4 week Intensive graduated!! It was a great course and we had some neat students attending the course as well as some who came for the Free lessons. Now one is heading off to China, two want to teach locally, more one-to-one and others will be heading off overseas to work later. It was hard going for the student's. They worked very hard and deserve their success. The next Intensive one is in July/August, date to be confirmed. We have a part-time one starting 20th April.

B.L.A Memory Adventures

B.L.A Memory Adventures Last Thursday we left B.L.A to go a trip to North Island. During the trip we had different kinds of weather, it is made the trip more exciting, we could not change it just accept it. We had sunny, rainy and windy days, i like all kinds of weather. In the Van we were a group of passengers composed of 14 people with different cultures and nationalities. Most of them are students from Bay Language academy. We were ready and excited to travel together to have a good weekend.  Our driver was Felipe a nice teacher from B.L.A and very kind driver. He always was willing to help us with whatever was necessary. The connection with the people was easy despite the cultural differences we had good times together. Our food was very rich, I could try delicious dishes prepared by my Korean friends. One kind of dishes that i will never forget is Korean curry. HUmm!! Delicious. All dishes were served with art and joy. We were a good team cooking ...

Spring is here

Spring is here and the students are off on another trip! This time they are heading up north on a Road trip.  See our Facebook.   It should be great!. We are anticipating a lot of photos. With spring we are getting a lot more students heading this way. Book in early to avoid disappointment. The cherry trees are flowering, lambs are in the fields and the days are a lot warmer. There is a feeling of anticipation in the air. Last Friday the students went to Maclaren Falls park. It was a great trip out as you can see form the photos.     It's very green out there right now.!

What a day Friday was

it was a sad goodbye to Yong Woon. He had been with us for 3 months, and in that time he went from an Elementary student to a Pre-Intermediate student. Well done Yong Woon. :) It was Luiz's last day also.He had been here a month and told me 'it was the best experience of my life!' We will miss him, he is always very happy and keen to try everything. After the presentations it was time for the barbecue at the beach. Papamoa beach. This is Alex, Jeuen, Luiz and Prince . This Luiz is staying! And then to the beach. Jon took some surfboards, boogie boards and a kayak.  gorgeous day, great people, lovely weather...what more do you want?

Moturiki Island on Main Beach

I went to Moturiki Island on Main Beach last Friday. I went there with teacher and my colleague. We got there by car.  We walked around the small island. This island has many paths. I touched the water, it was cold. On the island I heard the cicadas, a jet ski, children crying and playing and the sound of waves.  I saw many things there. I saw mountains, trees, birds, butterflies, flowers, a jet ski, rocks and the sea. I also saw many people; many children and their parents. I saw many little black mussels on rocks near the water. I saw a man fishing using a fishing rod. I saw a woman at the beach in a pink swimming suit walking out of the water. I think the trip was interesting and a little bit tiring because I walked a lot and the sun was too hot. Min Hao

Free classes!

The Pre-Int group are packing a lot into their day. They are enjoying the extra Free  classes, (the TESOL trainees are using them to practice their craft on)  and this afternoon were off to the beach to enjoy the sunshine!!

Investigating McLaren Falls

The boys from the Pre-Int class decided to visit the beautiful McLaren Falls in Tauranga as an Activity . They had a gorgeous day for it, hot and sunny. Dae-Hee, Adilson, Sebastian and Felipe (tutor) played rugby, went swimming and walked around the park. Very good was the verdict. Lots of fun!
